Photo of a fly in my garden - she sat on a walnut tree, when I was hunting ants with my camera - the lense was already so close to the tree, she wasn’t afraid of me, and I got some good close-up pics.

Adventurer Mark Moffett has found the world’s biggest insect - which is so huge it can eat carrots. The giant weta weighs a staggering 71 grams.

The creepy crawly is only found on Little Barrier Island, in New Zealand. The species were wiped off the mainland by rats accidentally introduced by Europeans.

Trapped in a tiny perfect sphere of water, this unlucky ant is unable to escape. A sudden downpour gave it no time to take cover, and photographer Adam Gormley was there to snap the image. Adam, from Noosaville, Queensland, Australia, had been photographing spiders in his neighbour’s garden when the rain came down. He had no idea there was an ant in one of the three millimetre droplets until he viewed the images later.
